Birds’ Nest Learning Academy’s curriculum is based upon the Creative Curriculum textbook which provides developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children at all age levels. The Creative Curriculum covers language, math/science, social/emotional, music/movement, art, and physical skills. Each area has its own elements that contribute to the child’s growth and cognitive development.
Throughout the year, children enrich their vocabulary, recognize letters and their sounds, and learn to write their names. They count and recognize numbers 1-20, and they learn to write numbers 1-10. Also, they do hands on science experiments, such as, observing the life cycle of a butterfly, making volcanoes, mixing colors. Children learn social skills through group play and learn to express their feelings in acceptable manners.
